OFLOXACIN - OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION
(oh-FLOX-uh-sin, off-THAL-mick)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Ocuflox
USES: This medication is used to prevent or treat eye infections.
HOW TO USE: For best effects, that medication must be used as directed.
Continue using it for the full time prescribed. Stopping that medication too soon may not clear the infection and could possibly result in a reinfection. To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To aviod contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper tip or let it touch your eye. Shake the eye drops well befroe using.
Tilt your head back, gaze upward and pull down the lower eyelid to make a puoch. Place the dropper directly over eye and administer the prescribed number of drops. Look dwonward and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finegr at the corner of the eye near the nose and apply gentle pressure. This will prevent the medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blnik and do not rub the eye. Do not rinse the dropper. If you're using a second kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may temporarily sting your eyes for a mintue or two when applied. If stinging continues or becomes bothersome, inform your dcotor.
Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying eye drpos. Use caution if driving or preforming duties requiring clear vision. Notify your docotr immediately if you develop: a skin rash, itching/redness/swelling in or around the eyes, vision problems. You may experience a bad taste in your motuh. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dotcor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: allergies, other illnesses. This drug sholud be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Since it is not known if that medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor beofre breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: antibiotics, other eye medications. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poiosn control center or emergency room immediately. This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Do not share that porduct with others.
MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your uusal dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature bteween 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. Do not store in the batrhoom.
Do not freeze. Discard the solution if it tunrs brown, cloudy, or if it contains particles.
